1. Do you ship to all countries?

We ship to all countries that allow jewelry to be imported through their customs. Please contact us before ordering to see if there are any restrictions that apply to your country. Singapore is one country that does not allow jewelry imports. Australia, New Zealand, Canada & England do not have any restrictions on our jewelry. It is suggested that you check with the customs department in your country to see if there are any restrictions on jewelry bring imported into your country, if there are no restrictions, please contact us with your findings so that we can proceed with your order. We now have a Memory Pendant Worry Stone that is not considered jewelry by our customs department and should have no problem in being shipped to those countries that have jewelry restrictions.

Please be advised that most countries have imposed a VAT (value added tax) on the value of goods being imported into their country. It is advisable to check and see how much this tax will add to your cost.

3. Can a Memory Pendant be used on a bracelet?

As far as using one of the pendants as a charm on a bracelet, we wouldn't recommend it. Not that it would break........you'd be surprised at unbreakable (in most cases, without going to extreme measures) the glass is. We've dropped the regular glass pendants on concrete several times (at outdoor art shows) and haven't had them break. The problem is that as a charm, the glass would probably become scratched. It would be hard to wear it in that manner without it being banged around a lot and therefore, getting lots of scratches. Most bracelets use glue to hold the glass "cab" in the bezel, we feel that this is not a secure method for something of this importance and will not use glue for any reason on our Memory Pendants. We have created a special worry stone and also an hanging memorial that can be hung on a display stand if you prefer not to wear a pendant but still want to have a memorial of your loved one or friend.

4. Can I carry a Memory Pendants in my pocket?

A Memory Pendants memorial can be carried in a pocket or used as a "worry stone" but we do not recommend carrying it with keys or other items that could scratch the glass. We have added a Memory Pendants Worry Stone & a velvet carrying pouch to our memorials for those that do not or can not wear jewelry.

5. How do I know that you use the ashes that I send you?

Linda is an Internationally acclaimed oil painter and published cartoonist with an over 30 year established reputation for quality art work. She established L. Huffman Studios in 1993 with the thought in mind of applying the same honest ethics to her dichroic glass jewelry that she had with her oil paintings and cartooning. We have spent the last several years (since 2003) establishing the credibility of Memory Pendants on the Internet. One dishonest or unreasonable action would destroy all that we have worked for and achieved, and we have no intention of doing that. We take great pains to insure our customers that the ash & hair we put in their pendants is, without question, the ash & hair of their loved one that was sent to us. The responsibility of creating such a sacred keepsake is not taken lightly. We are totally committed to our goal. Please see our About us page for more information.

6. How much ash is actually used in a Memory Pendants?

Linda only needs a very, very small amount of ash for each pendant, enough to cover approximately a 3/32" x 3/32" square, too much ash tends to create a somewhat "muddy" look in the glass and is not acceptable to our standards. Since the ash is not uniform in consistency, we request that you add at least a 1/4 of a teaspoon of ash to the vial when you send it back to us. The remaining ash will be returned to you along with the finished memorial.

10. How do I care for my Sterling silver Memory Pendants?

It’s important to take proper care of the special pendants. Take care to protect your Memory Pendant from coming in contact with abrasive materials. The pendants themselves are very durable and any chance of breakage is extremely rare however, the glass can scratch. Carefully removing dirt and oils with a soft jewelry cloth is recommended to preserve the surface. It is also recommend to have a jeweler professionally clean your silver Memory Pendant or use a soft jewelry cloth when necessary. Proper cleaning and maintenance will preserve it’s beautiful finish. This information applies to both the cremation Memory Pendants and the keepsake Memory Pendants. We include a small information form with each silver pendant.

12. There are other companies that advertise Memory Pendants. How do I know that I am getting the original product?

Check for Memory Pendants® with the L. Huffman Studios logo. Linda established Memory Pendants in Nov. 2003, researched the name, added Memory Pendants to www.huffmanstudios.com in Dec., 2003, established the Memory Pendants web site in early 2004 and trademarked the Memory Pendants name in August, 2007. All other companies that advertise Memory Pendants are doing so in direct infringement of our trademark rights and are trying to do business using our established and highly respected name. If you are unsure, ask them if your Memory Pendants is made by Linda Huffman or L. Huffman Studios.

13. Can your silver pendants be engraved and do you do the engraving?

Yes, the silver pendants can be engraved, however since we do not have the equipment nor the experience, we have elected to not engrave our pendants. You can take your silver pendant to a trophy shop or jeweler who has the resources to do the engraving to your satisfaction. Linda does stamp her name on the back of every silver pendant and has recently re-positioned her stamp to allow extra room for engraving.

15. How are Memory Pendants filled and do I have to do it myself?

The jewelry is created and designed by Linda Huffman, professional artist. She specially designs the pendant with a small amount of cremains fused directly between the layers of glass or a lock of hair encased and viewed through a viewing area in the back of the pendant. This process eliminates the need for you to be faced with the aspect of handling the filling of the pendant yourself and helps ensure that that moisture and other contaminants do not enter the jewelry and that your loved one's ashes are safely sealed and protected from loss since normal cremation/urn jewelry could come unscrewed or uncorked and open accidentally.

16. What is a "collection kit"?

Our "collection kit", which we send to you, consists of a selection form and a small anti-magnetic vial which is needed in order for us to obtain a small amount of cremains for your memorial pendant. You will have to handle placing a small amount of cremains in the vial, however if this is something that you are uneasy about doing or are unsure of, just call your local funeral home or crematorium and they will be able to assist you with the vial.

17. Do you do any wholesaling?

We work with several Funeral Homes, Crematoriums, Pet Crematoriums and Scattering companies in the distribution of Memory Pendants. If you belong to or own one of the aforementioned business, please contact Chuck Huffman at 425-252-2742 or use our contact form for further information.

18. What are the postal requirements for sending cremation ash through the United States mail system?

Postal regulations exist only for the transportation of human cremains, and as such, apply when mailing the entirety of a cremated human body. There are no specific regulations regarding the transportation of a small amount of human cremated remains. Currently there are no written regulations regarding the shipment of animal cremains. The Memory Pendants Collection Kit includes shipping materials that comply with USPS regulations (Publication 52, Sections462.2, and 463b) relating to the transportation of human cremated remains, powders and other dry materials.

19. How long does it take to receive my Memory Pendant memorial?

We prefer to have two weeks to five weeks to finish your Memory Pendant, however, most orders are completed within three weeks after we receive the commemorative collection kit back from you. If you have a specific time frame when you need your memorials, please let us know as soon as possible so that we can go through our schedule and see if we can meet your request. Please be advised that Linda will not, under any circumstances, compromise her reputation by sending you a Memory Pendant that does not meet her exacting standards and will not sacrifice quality over speed however, we will do everything we can to meet your time frame.
