Design process
showing the small hand cut pieces of dichroic glass that are placed by hand on
the glass base creating a
one-of-a-kind memorial.
A clear glass "cap" is placed on top for
protection and also creating the look of depth that Linda is known for. Notice the
cremains in the center of the
memorial and the fine silver wire, which is fused directly into the glass to hook the bail
to.
The finished memorial is placed in a kiln, set at 1500 degrees
F, for several hours to fuse the glass together, inspected by Linda and often
times placed back in the kiln to be finished. |
Linda Huffman, artist / owner of L. Huffman Studios, working on a Memory
Pendant. Notice the picture of the one being commemorated in front of her.
Every memorial that leaves her studio has been inspected several
times and must meet her exacting standards before being sent to the family that
ordered it. |
Hand soldering a square and a round Sterling
silver setting. After the soldering process is completed, the silver is cleaned
and inspected by Linda before having the glass memorial set.
We use Argentium Sterling which is made with a
touch of germamium that severely inhibits tarnish and firescale. |
